A little bit of luck goes a long way. A little less than two weeks ago, I woke up, and before I even had a chance to fully open both eyes, I saw that I had WON the big kahuna of prizes in the AWP 20K Giveaway.
First, I did this.
Then I acknowledged how happy I was. (And I’m extremely grateful to everyone involved, especially Ahmad Awais for all his efforts in organizing it).
AWP is the Advanced WordPress Facebook group. In June, it reached 20,000 members so a huge giveaway contest was launched, that ended up with $100,000 worth of prizes given away to 100 lucky winners. Each prize “bundle” included different items, and incredibly, I ended up winning the biggest bundle. You can see the 31 prizes in Package 1 here (you have to scroll pretty far down – it’s a huge post). I’ve just started receiving the goodies and I’m stoked to say the least!
Here’s a partial screenshot of the list of WordPress-related things I won. No matter how hard I tried I couldn’t get all 31 products to show up in the screenshot. There’s that much awesomeness!
Now, I’m not just telling you this to make you envious. When I said above that a little bit of luck goes a long way, here’s what I meant by that. Because of my stroke of luck, I am in a position to put all of these things through their paces, and let you know what they are like. Always wanted to try a particular theme or plugin, but didn’t have the time or money to test it? Well, I now have a load of WordPress products and services that I can test – and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.
There will be a bonanza of content coming your way over the next few months. I’ll be testing and reviewing and reporting on all the goodies I received. I feel like a kid in a candy shop!
I hope my experiences in installing and testing everything will be interesting and of use to you, of course. I’m looking forward to discussing the ins and outs of each of these with you. So if you’ve subscribed, be ready for some cool new content to come your way.
If you haven’t subscribed yet, now would be a perfect time! It just takes a few seconds!
